20 minutes...

SO...

I have twenty minutes until the bus I am suppose to catch is going to arrive at the Wilkinson center here at good old B-Y-U. In an effort at self-improvement/to appear less stalker like, I am going to work on my SELF DIRECTED LEARNING PLAN rather than waste away my life on facebook.

I have decided for my SELF DIRECTED LEARNING PLAN to address this first unit in a more humane manner, that is, from a humanities perspective, hahaha, oh thank you puns for existing. I'm thinking of looking up art either from that time period (really, really old England) or made about that time period to demonstrate and explain the themes of this unit according to our themes.

My search began with wikipedia where I found this:

A stain glass depiction of King Edwin at St. Mary in Yorkshire.

This is just the first in a long series of awesome art pieces that I am sure to find as I am going to now check out an ark history book before my bus comes.

Seeing as I must first find the book, retrieve it, and check it out in the next five minutes I should probably leave.

Now.

At it again!

Hello world/Dr. Burton's Eng 292 class!

I have returned to the world of blogging solely because I am once again in one of Dr. Burton's classes, and this thing served me very well last time, so I am hoping it will serve me once again!

Now, it has been a little over a year since my last blog, and let me tell you about all of the dramatic changes in my life...

okay. well let me tell you about some of the less-dramatic changes in my life...

-I changed my major! Yes, my beloved audience, I have officially abandoned the wonders of the history teaching major, in favor of a minor and have replaced it with the oh-so-illustrious ENGLISH teaching major. I know, it's a big change, but I feel as though English will serve me far better than history. Don't worry though, all of you mourning history majors, I am still very involved in the history department, especially now through my Research Assistant position!

-I now enjoy playing frisbee! And other sports! I know, as of last year I was an avid anti-sports player, but oh how I have repented! I now can throw and catch and run with the best of them! Okay...maybe not with the best of them...but I am certainly far more willing to try than I was last year.

-I now enjoy putting hot sauce on my food! A big shout out to my older brother, Greg, for that one. After years of watching him drench all of his food in a red coating I now can appreciate why he did it!

So, a few more things have changed about me, but they aren't so easily described or labeled or listed. And truthfully, I want to change a lot more, so be ready world!

So from now on I will use this blog to post my thoughts about Early British Literature. I also am taking a FANTASTIC creative writing class, so I will probably publish a few of my thoughts about that on here too because I have no where else to put them!

Also, because I have recently had more time on my hands than I have ever had in the past year I will probably take this opportunity to post other random thoughts. I will try to title my posts accordingly so the Eng 292ers don't have to sift through everything.

Anyway, Thank you my dearest, darlingest audience for taking the time to read this blog. I encourage you to return and promise to lavish even more ridiculous and unsolicited compliments from now on. :)

Oh, and to show the progression of time, and to celebrate the fact that I now know how to include photos on my blog...

Me last year:

Me this year:

My, my how things change!
